dear Amit,
SSN NO. is an exercise that is been carried out by most of companies nowadays, this ssn no. is a unique name assigned to an individual to help him out with an unique account no. assigned to him for lifetime,he can work in n no. of companies and need not to produce a pf transfer form.
in your case ,it is not a compulsion to have ssn no. an employee can transfer his fund by using form 13 ,and can use form 10c and 19 to avail fis funds
thanks and regards

Dear Amit,
Once he transfer his amount to your company PF account he will not be able to withdraw his money. So it is better he submits his PF withdrawal forms (Form 10, 19 c) along with SSN form to the previous employer. In such case he would be able to both get the PF withdrawal and SSN number from previous employer.

In absence of SSN, no transaction is made by PF Deppt. It has become mandatory to take SSN. Exact date is not known from when it came in force. Regards,

it is not madndatory as on date as process of obtaining ssn no. is still going on ,and in any case ssn no. cannot prevent you from taking loan at your pf account

In Haryana PF office has stopped entertaining any request for fund withdrawal without ssn no and has started sending ssn form along with rejected forms. You may also come across this process sooner or later. There is no escape.
