Hi,
I had requested for PF TRANSFER from my old company account to the present company and for which the previous employer made the transfer and even gave the Annexure K however the present employer has been claiming that they have not received the amount. When I followed up a bit rigorously then they showed me a snap from the company's bank account that they have received the specific amount and on the same date as given in my Annexure K but they still say that we cannot state with certainty that this amount belongs to you and actually asked the UTR to be given by the previous company for the transaction. Upon speaking with the previous company hr they mentioned that it's from HDFC BANK to HDFC BANK and for that UTR is not generated.
At present the current company HR is asking me to sign an undertaking but I am confused on why this needs to be done.
Is the Annexure K not a.formal.or a.legal.document and is it correct to not consider the amount as my PF accounts when the amount and date exactly match per the details given in Annexure K.
Can I take this up with EPFO as a grievance or I should simply give the undertaking ?
Please advice.

It's understandable that you're confused and concerned about this situation. Annexure K is indeed a formal document that provides details about the member's service history and PF accumulations. It's issued by the previous employer and is generally considered a valid proof of PF transfer.
However, it seems your current employer is having difficulty linking the received funds to your account without a UTR. While it's true that intra-bank transfers may not generate a UTR, this doesn't mean that there's no way to trace the transaction. The bank should be able to provide some form of transaction ID or reference number that can be used to identify the specific transfer.
Here's a step-by-step action plan:
1. Request your previous employer to contact HDFC Bank and obtain a transaction ID or reference number for the PF transfer. They should be able to provide this information.
2. Once you have the transaction ID or reference number, provide it to your current employer. This should help them link the received funds to your account.
3. If your current employer still insists on an undertaking, request them to provide a written explanation as to why this is necessary. This will help you understand their concerns and address them appropriately.
4. If the issue persists, you can indeed file a grievance with the EPFO. You can do this online through the EPFO's grievance management system.
Remember, it's important to keep all communication with your employers and the bank in writing for future reference. Also, while it's crucial to resolve this issue, ensure you don't sign any documents without fully understanding their implications. If necessary, consult with a legal expert before signing the undertaking.
