It's great to hear that you're considering a return to HR. Your diverse experience will certainly be an asset. Here are some tips for your upcoming interview:

1. Review HR Basics: Given that you've been away from a direct HR role for a while, it would be beneficial to brush up on current HR practices, labor laws, and trends, especially those relevant to your location in Bangalore, India.

2. Leverage Your Experience: Your varied experience can be a strength. Highlight how your roles in IT recruitment, business development, and process management have given you a unique perspective that you can bring to the HR & Admin Executive role.

3. Understand the Role: Research the role of an HR & Admin Executive thoroughly. Understand the responsibilities and expectations associated with the role. This will help you align your past experience and skills with what is expected in the new role.

4. Prepare for Behavioral Questions: HR roles often involve dealing with people and complex situations. Be prepared to answer behavioral interview questions that assess your people management, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.

5. Showcase Your Skills: Highlight your skills in areas like employee relations, benefits administration, HR policies, and legal compliance. Also, mention your ability to adapt to new roles and environments, as demonstrated by your diverse career path.

6. Ask Questions: Prepare some thoughtful questions about the company and role. This shows your interest and helps you assess if the role and company are a good fit for you.

Remember, confidence is key. Believe in your abilities and your diverse experience. Good luck with your interview!

Hi Suresh,
Am sure you have gauged the salary as well before accepting your interview request with them. As i see with the kind of experience you are coming from, the salary might be stooped down as it is moving more into operations rather than business development or recruitment. Anyway there definitely is going to be a question as to why you would want to move to HR and operations from your current role and you already have a honest answer that you are looking to work from your home place. These might be the other points which the interviewers might be interested in unless they are a hard core manufacturing company. Reason...being HR for a manufacturing company is too way complicated than being HR for other industries. They have lot of challenges in manufacturing industry. labor laws, industrial laws and the unions. Which gives us an indepth understanding of a core HR. But for the remaining part of your query, the below listed might be expected from interviewer perception.

What They Expect From You in Interview
HR Knowledge
Basic labour laws
Payroll inputs
Leave policy
Induction & onboarding
Employee engagement

Admin Knowledge
Vendor & facility management
Travel bookings (Not a travel desk but conditions like per diem, fare limits for metros and other regions. hotel fare limits)
Asset management
Housekeeping/security supervision

Behavior
Friendly, approachable tone
Confidence
Stability
Professional communication
Recruitment & screening

In a nut shell...
Onboarding & documentation
Preparing HR letters
Attendance & leave tracking
Payroll input coordination
Employee engagement programs
Exit formalities - Handling terminations and notice periods
Basic compliance documentation
Show eagerness for HR role

All the best for your interview as you now have a chance to move to your area of career and which might be your dream jom
