Hello professionals,

Please help me with the below query. If an employee's salary is credited by applying two LOPs instead of one, how should we process this? Is it okay to adjust it in the next salary, or is clearing it in the current month necessary? I look forward to your opinion.

This is only a clerical error. It can be rectified by paying one day's salary along with the current month's salary (payable next month). When two days' leave is deducted, you should have paid a lesser amount of PF, i.e., PF for 28/29 days as against 29/30 days. When you pay one day's salary along with next month's pay, please endorse it as "arrear of salary" and PF shall also be deducted as "PF of arrear of salary" in order to avoid the attraction of interest and damages.
