An Employee will be Eligible for PL from Date of Joining or from Date of Confirmation

Hi, PL or EL should be credited after the completion of 1 year service from date of joining of the employee. However there is nothing even if the employer sanction the PL/EL eligibility right from date of joining. It depends on the employer.

Sir/Madam,
I think there is no difference between DOJ and Date of confirmation. If there is a training before regular posting then there is a difference between DOJ & date of confirmation. Actually Date of Confirmation word is used in Government service. where an employee become a cadre employee. If training is involved then after training PL &EL will be credited in your leave account, otherwise from DOJ PL&EL credited in your account.

For all purposes including the number of PL to be credited the date of joining and not the date of confirmation should be considered. An employee becomes eligible for PL when he completes 12 months service, but the number of PL that he EARNS is calculated from the date of joining.

Most of the establishments grant Casual Leave (CL) which can be utilised by recruits during the first year of their service. EL/PL/SL normally credited after completion of one year of continuous service. Some offices may consider granting leave proportionately during the first year itself on 'emergency situations'.
However, first, you have to state clearly what are the provisions your "service conditions" are covered, including your Terms & Conditions of appointment. Different provisions applicable for diff. entities, Is't Factory, Shop, bank or what ? Once you indicate it may be easy for us to relate your case. It's important to provide relevant details before placing your query. Off-the-cuff queries cannot evoke proper replies.
