Hi Learned Members,

I have served my employer a legal notice digitally signed through email for their illegal termination. Tomorrow, I will send it to their registered office.

I just want to know, can I amend my notice (1 point which I missed) and send it again to them through email and by post?

I gave them 2 options: either to reinstate or to pay compensation. I need to add notice pay to my 2nd option, which I missed.

Thanks

In the situation where you need to amend a legal notice that was already sent to your employer regarding illegal termination, it is important to proceed carefully to ensure the legality and effectiveness of your actions. Here are the steps you can take:

Steps to Amend Legal Notice:

🔔 Review the original legal notice: Start by reviewing the original legal notice you sent to your employer to identify the specific point you missed, in this case, adding notice pay to the compensation option.

🔔 Prepare the amended notice: Clearly outline the additional point regarding notice pay in the compensation option. Ensure that the language is precise, professional, and in line with the legal requirements.

🔔 Date and sign the amended notice: Include the current date on the amended notice to indicate the revision. Sign the document with your digital signature if sending via email or both digitally and physically if sending by post.

🔔 Send the amended notice: Email the amended notice to your employer to ensure prompt delivery. Additionally, send a physical copy via post to their registered office for formal documentation.

🔔 Maintain records: Keep copies of both the original and amended notices for your records. This documentation may be crucial in any future legal proceedings.

🔔 Seek legal advice: If you are uncertain about the legal implications of amending the notice or require guidance on the process, consider consulting with a legal professional specializing in employment law.

By following these steps, you can effectively address the missed point in your legal notice regarding illegal termination and ensure that your employer is informed of all necessary details for potential resolution.
