As per the Factories Act 1948, the day hours of work are 9, weekly hours are 48, and beyond that overtime is payable. The limit of OT is 50 hours per quarter and is enhanced to 75 hours with permission of Factories Inspector. Post Covid epidemic, the OT limit has been increased by certain State Governments. You will have to check with the respective Labour Departments.
