Hi,

If any employee during her pregnancy's initial stage requires permission for late coming or early going, 1 to 2 hours, is there any rule or policy regarding the same? Kindly advise me.

Regards,

It is purely management prerogative. If the management is ready to allow it, she can avail it; otherwise, she has no option but to remain in the office for 8 hours. Certainly, she can ask for non-hazardous work during pregnancy.

Hi, If your nature of work permits you can request for Work from Home option. Otherwise is purely at the discretion of the employer. You can make a request to consider on humanitarian basis.

Hello Sreedevi,

As suggested above, give her a Work From Home option for a few days.

Rather than looking for the Policies, such cases have to be handled by HR and Management on a case-by-case basis, considering the concerned employee's health, working period in the organization, etc.

Make sure to maintain her request in writing with subsequent approvals in writing.
