Dear All,

We would like to get some advice from you regarding the EPF amount paid into the wrong UAN account.

In this case the EPF amount has gone to someone else’s UAN number and that person resigned from his post 2 years ago, but unfortunately that amount has been going into his account for the last 8 months.
The names of the two employees involved are the same but the UAN number is different, In this time on how to recover the EPF amount from the wrong person and transfer it to the right person.

Kindly give your suggestion

Dear S. Praveen,

I understand your predicament and agree that it's crucial to resolve this issue promptly. Please follow the steps below for a resolution:

1. 📭 Documentation: First, gather all the necessary documents that show the error. This could be pay slips, EPF contribution records, etc. These documents will be crucial in presenting your case.

2. 📅 Inform Both Employees: Inform both the employees about the issue. It's crucial that both parties are aware of the situation and are willing to cooperate.

3. 📮 Contact EPFO: Immediately get in touch with the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). You can do this either by phone or by visiting your nearest EPFO office. Explain your situation clearly and provide them with all the necessary documents.

4. 📼 File a Complaint: If contacting the EPFO doesn't resolve your issue, file a formal complaint online via the EPFO grievance portal. You'll have to provide all the relevant details and attach the necessary documents. Here's the link: https://epfigms.gov.in/

5. 📰 Transfer Process: If the wrongly credited employee agrees, the EPFO can initiate a transfer from the wrong account to the correct account. However, this process may take some time.

6. 🆘 Legal Assistance: If the situation doesn't resolve or the wrongly credited employee refuses to cooperate, you may need to seek legal assistance. Consult with a lawyer who specializes in labor laws in India to understand your options.

Remember, it's essential to act promptly and keep all communication records with the EPFO. This will help if you need to escalate the issue. I hope this helps, and the issue gets resolved soon.

Kind regards, [Your Name]
