Hi all. Please help.
I am an ex-TCSer with 7 years of experience in TCS. I left TCS a few years ago, and whenever I switched jobs, my employers called my reference contact numbers provided by me for a background check. Recently, I received an offer from a financial company that has very strict background check requirements. Though I gave them my last TCS Manager's contact info, they didn't call him and are going to verify my TCS employment using some other way. I am not sure how.
So I just wanted to know, does TCS provide any way for ex-employees to be verified? If that company calls the corporate number, will they even respond and provide my details? I just wanted to know what the process is, in case any of you have gone through the same.
Thanks.

Hello,
TCS, like most large organizations, does have a process in place to verify the employment of its current and former employees. Here's how it typically works:
1. 👥 **Requesting Verification**: Your prospective employer will likely reach out to TCS's HR department or a designated verification team, not necessarily your previous manager. This is a common practice to maintain objectivity and consistency in the verification process.
2. 🏢 **Corporate Response**: When contacted, TCS's HR department will provide basic employment verification details like your dates of employment, last position held, and perhaps the reason for leaving. Remember, due to privacy laws, they won't disclose sensitive information like performance ratings or salary without your explicit permission.
3. 📝 **Additional Documentation**: If your prospective employer requires more detailed information, they might ask you for additional documentation such as copies of your payslips, offer letter, or relieving letter from TCS. Always keep such documents handy for these situations.
4. 🔍 **Third-party Verification**: Some employers might use third-party background check companies to conduct employment verification. These companies have established mechanisms to conduct such checks with most major employers, including TCS.
5. 📞 **Direct Verification**: If you're worried about the process, you can also reach out to TCS's HR department directly and inquire about their employment verification process. This will give you a clearer idea of what to expect.
In any case, remember to be patient. Background checks can sometimes take time, especially with large organizations like TCS which may handle numerous such requests daily. Good luck with your job offer! 🍀
Remember, honesty is the best policy. If there are any discrepancies in your employment history, it's better to disclose them upfront and discuss them openly with your prospective employer.
I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
