Hi Sir/Madam,

I am Arulkumar from Tiruchengode, Namakkal District. I have a team of members who specialize in cleaning hospitals and housekeeping services. Currently, we are providing services at Vivekanandha Hospital in Tiruchengode. I would like to inquire whether we need a license to secure more housekeeping contracts.

Thank you.

Hi Arul,
You have to obtainseparate licence for each work/each PE, it's contract/WO specific quantifying the No.of persons required/to be deputed and the nature of assignment.
'Principal Employer' (PE) who employs twenty or more ‘workmen’ on any day of the preceding twelve months should mandatorily apply for CLRA registration to the Labour Department of their respective states, stating the maximum number of employees to be employed. And obtain & issue Form 5 to the Contractor. There is a cap on the No.of persons licensed as appearing in Form 5 issued by the PE. Also the licences so issued should be renewed periodically using online portal-
Licence issued by the labour department can be renewed online!
Visit the website: www.tn.labour.gov.in.
Choose the option 'licence renewal'.
Fill up the details asked and submit. The licence will be renewed.
You can make use of the attachments.
