Dear All,
Hope all of you are safe and well. I am Satveer, working in a company as an Assistant Manager in HR. I joined this organization in May 2020. For some days, I was not feeling well. After a check-up, I tested positive for Coronavirus. I have been isolated for 17 days as advised by the doctors. I informed the VP-HR and Manager-HR of my company through a formal email along with the test reports.
However, yesterday I received a call from my Manager-HR. He mentioned that I should start looking for another job as they have hired someone else. I am still in isolation, and instead of supporting me, they are letting me go. Please advise me on what steps I should take in this situation.
Thank you for your help.

Dear Satveer,
It appears that your company wanted to remove you, becoming COVID-19 positive is just an alibi.
The post of this kind is not new to this forum. A large number of posts exist on this forum. Nevertheless, what differentiates this post is that it has come from the HR personnel. Generally, we find posts by non-HR personnel on their unceremonious exit. It is unfortunate to note that the very HR people short shrift to jargon like emotional intelligence when it comes to removal of a person from their own department.
Anyway, I recommend you putting up an application to the VP (HR) for your reinstatement. In case if he remains inclement then put up an application to the MD of your company. If there is no response from even MD then file a complaint to the labour office.
Explanation on the procedure to file a complaint to the labour office is not required as you are HR personnel and it is assumed that you know the basics of HR function.
Thanks,
