Do we have anything specific for retrenchment of service for employment less than 240 days? For example, for employment of less than 50 days, 50-100 days, or 100-240 days with the organization.

Retrenchment compensation is payable only to those who have worked for 240 days in the 12 months preceding the retrenchment. The same principle applies to laying off the employees as well. However, 240 days is not strictly the days present but should include all paid leaves and holidays.

If there is any provision in the standing order of the company or the contract of employment, like notice of termination of employment, then you should follow that.
