I think that the poster has used the term "corporate employees" in the sense of "employees working in some offices" as distinguished from those employees working in factories or in the field. There is no mandatory provision for sick leave under the Factories Act, 1948. Sick leave should be mandatorily provided to employees employed in shops or establishments. Every office located outside the premises of a factory where the State's Shops and Establishments Act is applicable is certainly an establishment under the Act and therefore should be given sick leave as per the Act.

Those employees who are covered by the ESI Act can avail benefits from ESIC. However, those employees who are outside the coverage of the ESI Act should be given Sick Leave, whether they are working in a corporate office, branch offices, factories, or godowns.
