In January 31, 2006, SC has declared that Apprentice, Trainees are not entitled for PF Benefits. So Can anyone tell me the recent amendment in this regard?? Are they eligible for PF & ESI....

Dear Candidate, With reference to your query, as per Factories Act, The trainees / apprentice are covered under ESIC act.

Hi Yesuraja, Apprentice who are undergoing training as part of their curriculum are not eligible for PF, ESI. However trainees who were employed on full time basis are eligible for PF, ESI.
