As a matter of fact, most employees are looking for more than just a 9-5 job. Apart from money being an important factor, employees are also looking for a comfort zone where they get the opportunity to be involved with their responsibility, get enthusiastic about the company, and set an example for their fellow subordinates.

Hence, what would you suggest are the best employee engagement practices?

1. Build trust, be human, and default to open. Start at the top, with executives and management. Articulate goals and responsibilities. Offer help to those who aren't performing well. Spot and encourage "power employees." Create a forward-thinking work environment. Be careful who you hire. Be supportive of career planning and advancement. Give people freedom to make their own choices. Promote open and direct communication. Don't confuse "engagement" with "happiness." Keep things interesting, add some fun. Encourage team-based working methods. Make it a daily focus.
