Hi everybody,

Currently, I am working as an Executive Assistant with a company. Recently, I interviewed with another company in the same field. During the first interview, the panel asked about my salary expectations. I stated my figure, but they proposed a lower salary, without any additional benefits. Consequently, I remained firm on my initial salary expectation. Additionally, I have concerns about the working hours. After gathering feedback from their former employees, I discovered that they typically pay salaries around the 22nd or 23rd of the month.

Moving forward, I had another discussion with their consultant a few days ago. They were willing to meet my salary expectations, offered flexibility with working hours, and agreed to pay my salary between the 1st and 7th of each month. However, when I requested the offer letter to proceed with resigning from my current position, I found that the letter did not specify the salary amount, payment date, or the agreed-upon working hours.

In summary, the offer letter lacks clarity on the discussed points, which has made me hesitant to accept their offer. Furthermore, I learned from a former employee that if an individual does not meet their expectations post-hiring, the company may terminate the employment abruptly without a notice period.

Given these concerns, do you think it is advisable for me to request a clear mention of these details in the offer letter?

An offer letter should primarily focus on the compensation and designation. If you are not satisfied with the terms and salary disbursement date, it is advisable to seek another offer. This decision would be more prudent in the long run.
