Hello, I need some suggestions for my situation! I am basically from Chennai, currently residing in Kerala (after marriage) and I have experience in managing an HR firm for a while in Chennai. I would like to start my HR consultancy business again in Chennai as I don't have a support system to do it in Kerala. Could anyone tell me a business model and how to implement it and run it successfully in Chennai without my physical presence? Thanks a lot.

Hi,
One possible option is you can act as a Recruitment Consultant. You can liaise between the employer and candidates to ensure their placement with the employer. No physical presence is required here. Repeated follow-up with the candidates and employer contacts is necessary.
Another option is if you are strong in payroll and statutory compliance, you can take care of payroll and statutory compliance for a mid-sized company. You can receive data through email, process it at your place, and forward it to the employer.

Dear Mr. lakshminarayanan.. Thank you much for the suggestion. My biggest hurdle is to manage the team remotely in any case. Do you think it will work? Could I proceed with my idea! Thanks..

Hi,
Probably for the initial setup, your physical presence may be required. Later, you can monitor/manage through calls and plan occasional visits. Alternatively, to be more cost-effective, you may hire freelancers who will work from home on an assignment basis, so no initial investment is required.
Thank you.

Hi,
In my opinion, you can do the following things before starting your own business:
1) Conduct customer availability research in your desired area.
2) Think about your product/service quality.
3) Analyze the market share of competitors.
4) Conduct an environmental study.
5) Establish processes.
6) Assess the availability of people to run your business.
7) Consider your finances and potential earnings.
All the best!
