Can employee eligible for a benefit from EPFO ?

From India, Raikot
Dear Friend,
The employee is eligible to avail the benefit of EDLI scheme, There is no minimum limit of service to avail the EDLI benefit.
Employee can avail the benefit from the day 1 of the member of the EPFO scheme.
1.It covers the death of employee irrespective of the cause.
2.Every employee who is the member of Provident fund gets covered under EDLI.
3.The coverage is for 24 hours. It is not related to the working hours.
4.The coverage is for the whole earth. Being at the workplace is not necessary.
5.There are no exclusions under this policy.
6.The insurance coverage is linked to the pay of the employee.
7.The coverage and premium is similar to every employee. Age or any individual factor does not
make any effect.

There is death benefit of Rs. 50,000/ available immediately .Hope, you have done nominations procedure on day one only. Please get the death certificate and submit / forward applications for Pension and EDLI before RPFC . If he is covered under ESI, his dependants will be entitled to Pension also.In case ESI, is not applicable, please see that his dependents get prescribed death compensation caused due to accident. How will he get EDLI benifits, even a single contribution to the EPFO? Is it enough to show the EPF subscription form with nominee details?
