Dear Sir,

I am writing this to know:

1. Can a company adjust their clients' debt from an employee's incentive or from his full and final settlement?
2. Sooner or later, if the company recovers outstanding amounts from the client, can they withhold the amount from the employee that they adjusted against the client's debt?

Request: Please confirm.

Regards,

The actions of the company are clearly irregular. Incentive cannot be blocked, stopped, or recovered if the client fails to pay. How does an employee become liable for a customer's debt to the company, even if he is the salesman for the deal? There is no legal basis for such actions.

Please familiarize yourself and your employer with our settled laws governing "Unauthorized Deductions" from wages/salaries. More than the legal norms, there is this human virtue, namely business ethics.
