Kindly suggest to me, if an employee has contributed to ESIC and suddenly wants to stop their contribution for personal reasons and be exempted from ESIC, what should the employer do? Please advise.

If his/her salary is within the eligible limits/coverage there is no option available to the employee to come out of ESI scheme.

Employee contribution is 1.75% of his wages. It is not a big sum to ensure medical cover for him and his family. There can be no reason to avoid paying the contribution. Officially, there is no way to escape from this monthly contribution.

Hi,

The employee has no control nor discretion as long as he/she is within the coverage limits of ESIC. The contribution has to be deducted from the salary before it is paid to the employee; otherwise, the employer would be liable.

Thanks and Regards
