Presuming that the query pertains to Delhi, it is clarified that the Punjab Industrial Establishment (National & Festival Holidays, casual & sick leave) Act, 1965 and the Rules made there under have been enforced in the National Capital Territory of Delhi w.e.f. 1.1.1974. This Act is applicable on factories covered under provisions of the Factories Act, 1948. It is provided in Section 5 (2) that where a worker works on any national holiday allowed under section 3, he shall at his option, be entitled to—
(a) twice his average daily wage for that day, or
(b) his average daily wage for that day and a substituted holiday wilth his average
daily wage on any other day within ninety days from the day on which he so
works.
So for the workers who worked on 2nd October pay them double wages in addition to the normal wages or provide them additionally single wages & one day paid holiday within 90 days.
