Interim Order on ESIC for Construction Site Workers
Dear All,
As per the interim order by the Hon'ble Supreme Court dated 06.07.2018, "ESIC shall remain stayed until further order for construction site workers." In view of this order, it is clarified that no ESIC contribution may be collected from the construction site workers and their employers during the period of the stay order.
Clarification on ESIC Eligibility for Permanent Staff
My question is, in this context, if permanent staff who are posted at various construction sites and some in the Regional office, their liability flows under the Regional office as per the payroll module. In both cases, are they eligible for ESIC or not? The clarification order of ESIC is attached for reference.
