Dear All,
I am looking for information on rules for leave and week off for employees working in a plant that operates round the clock. Are there separate week off rules for an institution who operates for 24 hours (especially in a factory or a plant set up). Is there something like a 8 day work and a 2 day off, kind of a rule mentioned under the labor act.

There is no provision for 8 days work continuously and 2 days off on regular basis. You need to regulate work as provided under the Factories Act 1948 and the applicable Standing Orders

Dear colleague,
1 As regards leave rules, it will be same as per company policy and within the parameters under the Factories Act.
2 As regards weekly off, you can arrange shift working /timings by giving staggered off to workers within the boundaries of the FA/Rules .
