Dear Sir/Madam,
I have over 15 years of experience as a Personal Secretary. Some of my well-wishers have advised me to pursue an MBA. Currently, I am enrolled in an MBA program and have just completed my IV Semester exams. My intention behind choosing the HR stream for my MBA was to enhance my opportunities in the industry, as there is a greater scope for HR roles compared to secretarial positions.
About three months ago, I joined a firm as an Assistant Manager-HR. However, the responsibilities I have been assigned primarily involve secretarial tasks. Lately, I have been receiving job offers from reputable companies for the role of Personal Assistant. This situation has left me in a dilemma - whether to continue working as a Personal Assistant or to adhere to my original plan of transitioning into the HR field.
I would greatly appreciate your valuable suggestions on this matter.
Regards,
Prasad

Dear Prasad,
Why do you want to change your idea? You have stated that your intention is to get into HR after completing MBA. Here, you are receiving calls for Secretarial positions only as your experience lies in that area. Undoubtedly, it is challenging to switch jobs during this period as you lack real-time exposure to HR functions. However, you can highlight your experience in HR-related activities during interviews to boost your confidence until you achieve success.
All the best.
