I work as an HR executive in a private hospital. I want to know the process of hiring our new employees on a contractual basis. Which compliances would be applicable for them, and what would be the leave eligibility?

Employees appointed on a contractual basis attract all the benefits and entitlements as given to another set of employees. The only difference in contractual employment is that this kind of employment is a form of a fixed-term contract. Upon the completion of the fixed-term contract, it is automatically terminated.

As suggested by a senior friend, here terms remain the same, but is there any specific reason for engaging on contractual terms? Better to take a call after considering the same. If you want a part-term appointment and none or fewer chances of renewal, take on contract terms.

I work in a private hospital. Our management wants employees on a contract basis. Currently, we mention in the appointment letter that the job is on a contractual basis for 11 months. As of now, we do not opt for any legal process. The reason behind this is that management wants employees to avail very limited or no leave and other benefits as well.
