As per the Factories Act 1948, every adult (a person who has completed 18 years of age) cannot work for more than 48 hours in a week and not more than 9 hours in a day. According to Section 51 of the Act, the spread over should not exceed 10-1/2 hours.
How many hours (maximum) per day, week, and year can a person work? As per the Factories Act 1948, every adult (a person who has completed 18 years of age) cannot work for more than 48 hours in a week and not more than 9 hours in a day. Chapter VI of the Act refers Sec 51 Weekly working hours, Sec 54 daily working hours, Sec 57 Night working. I hope your query is answered.
6 days * 8 hours working per day is permissible. I do hope as per your local state laws, permission is given for your factory to have night shifts.

Do you mean six consecutive night shifts? If so, it is permissible under the Factories Act 1948, with the only precondition being that the weekly holiday for that worker would be a period of twenty-four consecutive hours beginning from the end of the sixth shift of the week.

Even though it is for day or night, both are allowed, but you need to give a weekly off after completion of 6 days of working. Also, please ensure to keep the total number of working hours should not cross the prescribed limit of 48 hours.
It means if in a week there is a night shift for an employee for 6 days, on the next day a holiday is provided. After that holiday, the next shift overlaps with the night again and again. What is the solution for alternating shifts like day and night or a three-shift rotation?
