My due date was in February 2018, and I formally informed my company about my pregnancy on September 7, 2017. They sent me on leave starting from January 22, 2018. I have been inquiring about the maternity policy since September, but they have never responded to my emails. They paid me my salary from February to May, but now, for the month of May, they have not transferred my salary. When I asked HR about it, they informed me that the payment is on hold, both verbally and through email, which they have not replied to. Please advise on what actions I can take.

Thanks for sharing the reply, but it didn't work out. Now they are saying that my salary will be on hold for 3 months, and they will release it once I join back. Kindly let me know whether it is correct as per law.

Please file a case with the labour commissioner of that area. It is illegal. Have all supporting documents in hand

Withholding salary is against the provisions of the MB Act, and the legal remedy is to approach the Labour Officer of the area for intervention. Another approach could be to inform the State Women's Commission about this issue.
