Maternity leave - how much salary we have to pay to her during maternity period- Basic or Full 2.5 Lac?


One of our FEMALE employee was getting 2.5 lac monthly, has went for maternity leave from May-2020.
Please suggest how much salary we have to pay to her during maternity period- Basic or Full 2.5 Lac.
Does any maximum wages limit for Maternity? Her position is Sales Manager.

to clarify your query, the wage include all remunerations paid to an employee.
you can refer section 3 subsection N of maternity benefit act, 1964.

Dear Member, According to MB Act we are to pay full salary to the employee. It is just like other leaves where we do consider full salary.There is no maximum wages/salary ceiling. Regards, R N KHOLA
