This company has a lot of politics. I cannot make any decisions; the Production Manager oversees all the security controls. For instance, I overheard something, and he looked at me mistakenly. If the management says something, they do not seem to understand.

If you are becoming wary of office politics, then please understand, it is normal. If it is not there and people strictly mind only their business, then it is going to be an exception and an odd entity. Also, power flows to the person who exercises it. It is too early for you to expect all powers to come to you so soon, as it has only been two months. As you are in a new setup, try to understand the power structure and work your way out in a planned, sequenced manner. But if you feel the situation is hopeless, look for alternate avenues.

You need to be patient. It takes more than 2 months in any office to be well-known and understood by all. Your presence is important, and people will observe you. Take the time to meet people, understand issues, and make yourself known. Things will become easier once people recognize your effectiveness and decision-making abilities. There is no office without politics. Only insecure people indulge in office politics. Remember this and showcase your worth through good work.
