Hi, I am an employee in a school. I have taken a one-month leave as prescribed by the ESI doctor. I have submitted the necessary documents to the ESI office, and they have paid me half of my salary. However, after some days, the ESI authorities are asking me to refund the money. They claim that my attendance was marked erroneously by the staff, showing that I was present all those days when, in fact, my school organization had not paid me my salary. Now, the ESI officials are requesting a refund. Can anyone help me, please?

If you receive a payslip, you can use that. Alternatively, can they not at least provide you with an attendance statement? It is not understandable why the school is hesitant to issue such a letter. You may also submit a letter explaining the difficulties you are facing due to the incorrect description of your attendance data and request corrective action.
