Please clarify whether we can keep one UAN. The questions are as follows:

1. If we have left the previous organization and updated our UAN in the current organization without transferring the PF to the current one, can we withdraw that after updating the UAN in the current organization?

2. Can we also transfer the previous PF to the current organization if we do not withdraw with the same situation as mentioned above?

3. Can we keep three member IDs in one UAN and transfer or withdraw them according to our requirements over time?

Thanks,
Naveen

Dear Mr. Naveen,

UAN stands for Universal Account Number. Please share your existing UAN with all your future employers. Furthermore, log in to your UAN Member portal and file a transfer claim in respect of your previous EPF membership. EPF is a retirement fund. You can withdraw your EPF if you are unemployed for more than 2 months.

Thank you, sir.

I am confused about what happens if I update my UAN in my current organization, but then do not transfer my old PF account. Can I withdraw funds from my old member ID account, or can I transfer it later if I haven't done so already?

Please clarify this for me.

Dear Mr. Naveen,

It is your responsibility as an EPF member to apply for a transfer either through online or offline. You cannot withdraw your previous EPF membership solely on the grounds that you have not opted for transfer. While in employment, you cannot opt for the withdrawal of your previous EPF membership. Please do not waste time; apply for a transfer immediately and build your retirement fund for the sake of you and your family.
