Hi, I'm very confused about one clause of our appointment letter. As per the appointment letter of our company, the clause states, "Your services would be eligible for confirmation appraisal at the end of the probation period." Should we increase the salary of employees after confirmation.

In this clause not mention of any increment ... its depicts your confirmation of job only if found suitable after evaluation on completing probation period.

This clause speaks of a confirmation appraisal for assessing the suitability of retaining an employee as a permanent staff member.

The review of work-technical and behavioral parameters, along with other relevant factors important from the company's perspective, will be conducted by individuals appropriately positioned above the employee in question.

Dear Yasmin,

Yes, upon satisfactory completion of probation, along with confirmation of service, an annual increment is drawn when the probation period is one year or more. This is the industry-wide practice.

Dear colleague,

To hold an appraisal interview prior to confirmation is a commonly followed industry practice. As for granting increments post-confirmation, this is determined by the policy and varies from company to company. However, increments are typically granted annually following performance evaluations.
