Hi Friends,
In my organization, online bank account access is restricted because outside websites are not allowed. However, I would like to provide this access to all employees who have bank accounts provided by the company. Now, management is asking for a valid reason - Why?
Please help.

Dear Rupendra,
You wanted to provide access to the bank's website to which the salary is credited, but then you have not mentioned which bank exactly. Anyway, you may quote the following reasons:
a) All the employees do not have computers or laptops in their homes. Access to the bank's website will help them carry out financial transactions with ease.
b) While most banks have their own apps, not all employees may be familiar with these apps. Additionally, these apps consume Random Access Memory (RAM) on mobile devices. Not every employee has a high-RAM mobile phone.
c) Reading general information about new rules or regulations is easier on a laptop or computer.
d) Banks' websites are not like social media websites. The risk of spending time on unwanted activities is minimal. Employees will close the website once their work is done.
Thanks,

Dear Rupendra,
It is a good initiative, but it is also important to understand if it is really required to do so. Has anyone reached out to you and asked for the special privilege? If yes, then take it in writing and prepare a summary of requirements mentioned by the employees and present it to the management. Nowadays, in the age of the digital era, it is not really necessary to provide such a privilege because 90% of people have mobile apps on their phones and can easily comply with the bank procedures and requirements at their own convenience.
Thank you.

Dear Rupendra,
It's basic things and has to be provided to the employee:
1. They can do necessary transactions from the office as they spend most of their time there, so there is no need to visit banks.
2. They can check their salary and bank balance.
There are no disadvantages to providing bank account access on the office desktop. Many times, mobile apps do not work properly or battery/network issues may interrupt them.
