Hi All,

As per the HR policy, our notice period is one month. I would like to circulate a notice for the most senior staff or staff in important positions that the notice period has been reviewed. From April '17 onwards, their notice period will be three months instead of one month.

Please help me in drafting the same.

Regards.

Hi,

Please note, you cannot make any backdated amendments. If someone has already resigned, any amendments to the employment contract effective April 2017 would not be valid for that individual. Additionally, you must prepare a letter for the amendment and ensure that employees acknowledge it in writing to authorize the change.

  • Notice period should be as mentioned in the Appointment Letter, mutually agreed and accepted. If the notice period is to be increased from 1 month to 3 months with a prospective date, individual letters should be issued to all concerned, and acknowledgment should be obtained as proof of acceptance of the change in the notice period from 1 month to 3 months. Mere mentioning in your HR Policy will not suffice.
