Dear Concern,
My name is Anuradha. I am from Bangalore and working as an HR professional in a garment company. I have been working in this organization for the last 3.7 years and have been rated well every year. Everything was going well until I conceived in April 2017 and informed my employer in the same month for a proper handoff before my planned leave.
However, my commitment to work started being questioned by my supervisors, and I began facing various forms of mental harassment. Suddenly, I was labeled as a poor performer. Now, in September 2017, as I am preparing to take maternity leave, my employer has requested me to resign, but I am not willing to do so.
I seek your advice on what steps I should take to avail my maternity leave and continue my employment in the same organization. Thank you for your help.
Sincerely,
Anuradha

Dear Dinesh,
Thank you for your information; it's really helpful. One thing I need to know is that my employer has asked me to resign verbally, with no written communication. Can I send an email to my seniors about this, or should I wait for an email from them?
Thanks in advance.

Please don't resign from your side. The employer can't take any action (termination). Termination for any reason would become illegal at this stage. Hope you have issued notice to the employer in Form-B and E. If not, please submit it immediately.
