Hi, I have been asked to design a performance management system for a software company.........for both its IT and ITES sectors.
But before that, I want to start off with competency mapping.
Can anybody please help me out as to what are the steps that are needed to be followed for that?

Basically competency mapping is identifying & allocating the Key responsibility area of each employee as well as Job also. It also helps us know the exact no. of people needed for that partical assignment.
In crux summary of any assignment,no. of people allocted there KRA etc

I want to prepare an excel sheet, so what are the common headings that I can use? do I need to sit with the technical team for gathering the information?
