I joined a consultancy two months back, and I wrote the resignation to them one day ago. I still haven't received any response on that mail confirming whether they have accepted it or not. Should I assume it is a yes and start searching for my new job?
For the details, till date, I didn't receive any appointment letter or company ID from the company, even after giving them reminders. That was the sole reason to resign from the organization.

Don't you think it was a hasty decision?
Most of the consultancies do not have a big setup like companies, where they have an HR department to provide the appointment letter upon joining or issue a company ID immediately. Instead, they rely on consultants for their Accounts/HR/Admin and/or statutory needs.
Please inform the forum whether you receive your salary in cash or by cheque. Also, let the forum know if you receive your salary slip to provide a better understanding.

Yes, I got the salary for the month of December on January 10th and the salary slip for the same on 20th January. I received my salary in my private bank account. However, I don't have the salary slip and salary of January as I stopped going to the organization on the 22nd of this month. I gave them a week's notice before submitting my resignation. When I saw no positive changes from their side, I decided to resign. They even provided the wrong salary slip for me initially. But after I asked them repeatedly to correct it, they took action and sent the revised one.
Please, can you advise me on what I should assume, yes or no? I am a fresher who completed my MBA in 2016 and was actively looking for a job. This was my first job experience.

I didn't even receive a proper offer letter from them. I got an email from them that was a Letter of Intent (LOI) mentioning my designation and targets. It was stated that within 45 days from my date of joining (DOJ), I would be receiving my appointment letter. My DOJ is 7th Dec.

Please meet the head of the branch and have a face-to-face discussion to close the loop. If they operate out of a different site, please get on a call to close the loop. A consultancy startup will have a few challenges. It's better to discuss and find solutions rather than just writing emails and awaiting confirmation.

In your earlier statement, you wrote that you have not received anything. Afterwards, you mentioned that you have received a Letter of Intent (LOI) wherein it was written that you will get the appointment letter after 45 days of your joining date. You waited exactly 45 days from your joining date, i.e., from 7th Dec till 22nd Jan, and since you could not wait for a single day or two, you left the organization. You started your follow-up well in advance, i.e., a week before resigning; hence, in my view, it was a hasty decision.
As mentioned by one of the forum members above, try to get in touch with the employer and come up with an amicable solution to resume your work and resolve your demands.

@Fc.Vadodra, I said it was mentioned within 45 days from the doj, not after 45 days as said. I started following up with them after 45 days completed, that is after the 22nd. I stopped going and asked for the documents. From the 22nd to the 30th, I guess ample time was given to the consultancy to take some action.
