Dear all,
an employee is presently getting gross salary rs 21000/- pm and esi benefits accordingly ?
Hr experts are requested to clarify whether the contribution towards esi of the employee will continue when the above employee will get gross salary @ rs 23000/-pm.

no,he will not be entitled for ESI benefits,if his salary increases. So no need to deduct esi from his deductions.

ESIC deductions are taken in a block of 6 months.
The termination of benefits will continue till the end of the 6 month block.
So if the salary has gone up in Feb, you need to continue paying till June and then stop. The employee gets his benefits will June. If he is under treatment for a serious ailment, then he continues to get the treatment even after the benifit period is over

Hi !
I think, Saswata Banerjee has not clarified the issue. If the salary goes up above limit of Rs.21000 in the month of Feb, then the contribution towards ESIC has to be done till March, and the ESIC benefits can be taken for a further period of six months.

ESI contributions recovery in two block period one is apr to sept and another is oct to mar. If employee covered esi during the month of apr then he will contribute till sept, even though his salary increased from Rs 21000/- to higher and he will relieve from the esi from the month of oct to march.
