"Dependent" is the clause for family members, which means the member is either not earning or not a part of any ESIC scheme, or gross earning without any such facility below 5000 pm. The second clause is whether residing with IP. If the answer is yes, then only the family member is covered. Self-dependent persons cannot be classified under the dependent category for ESIC.
