You don't need to have a certified standing order if your establishment's employee strength is less than 100 in Karnataka. A certified standing order is required for more than 50 employees in Tamil Nadu only. You can follow model standing orders until the strength reaches 100.

Hi,
Please find attached the model standing orders and act. I just found that in Karnataka too, the limit was 50 employees only. Go through the link for detailed procedure: [Department of Labour, Govt. of Karnataka](http://labour.kar.nic.in/labour/industrial-1946.htm)

There is no need to follow model standing orders when there are no certified standing orders due to the eligible strength. However, in such cases, the company does follow the appointment orders that are given to the employees.

The standing order is generally applicable to an establishment where the total number of workmen is 100 or more. However, the government, via notification, can reduce the number from 100 to 50.
As per the Standing Orders Act, the amendment under the Karnataka Act 37 of 1975, effective from 11-07-1977, states that the total strength should be 50 or more for the Act to apply in the state of Karnataka.

Hi Senior,
I have a query with respect to Industrial Standing Orders. If in the certified standing order it is mentioned that "writing anonymous letters or criticizing the superior officer or any worker of the facility is a major misconduct," is it against the law? If yes, please provide the law as I am in urgent need of the same.
Thank you.
