Dear members,

I work for a startup that is supported by a software company with a global presence. I've been subjected to bureaucracy, excessive vigilance, constant questioning, lack of trust in employees, constant monitoring in the office, and pay cuts without informing employees of the policies. Open disrespect - with one word, I can describe it as ATROCITIES.

Coming from an MNC background where I was trusted and valued, receiving numerous accolades, the current situation is disheartening. Hence, I have decided to resign as I could not continue to work in such an environment. Many others have also resigned and left the company. One of the most concerning aspects is that they demand educational certificates from us before joining, and then threaten not to return them or make us go through unnecessary hassle to collect them. I had turned down other opportunities for this role due to my interest in the product. I am now actively searching for a new job.

I just wanted to gather insights from all of you regarding company laws. Is this the norm in other companies as well? Please help.

Thank you.

When you joined this company, did you do any background study? How is the environment? Why did you leave the MNC where you won many accolades? Now, as far as retaining your educational certificates is concerned, the startup has no right. You can even complain to the civil police about their actions.

As for your query about other companies, there are good companies, medium companies, and worse types. It all depends on your luck and cross-checks before taking up a job. We cannot call all companies bad across the board. Due diligence about the new employer/company is mandatory. Look at reviews on the net to get some idea. If it is a listed company, more info is always available in public forums. I hope your next job will be better.
