As you know, the Industrial DA effective from 01.07.2015 for 2007 & 1997 scales is 102.6% and 242.1% respectively. With the release of the All India Consumer Price Index for the months of June & July 2015, the projected Industrial DA effective from 01.10.2015 will be 107.6% (an increase of 5%) & 250.6% (an increase of 8.5%) respectively.
Please note: AICPI for August 2015 is yet to come. The final figure may vary accordingly.

The varying DA results in enormous work for the HR and payroll departments since most companies adhere to the CTC concept these days. The delay in the release of the notification by the respective state government or statutory bodies further increases the workload, as arrears would have to be calculated, and records would need to be prepared accordingly in the statutory registers. The impact that this increase would have on the balance sheet (as "employee cost") of the company is also something worth considering, especially in the current scenario where most businesses are not doing well.
