Dear seniors,
I am working as a Manager-HR with more than 8 years of experience. I want to take a break from my career for 2-3 months due to some personal important commitments. I need guidance from all seniors. Will this break have any effect on my career? Will any organization be ready to hire me after a 2-month break? Please share your guidance and suggestions.

This 2-month break will not hamper your professional growth or hiring by a new organization. If your profile is good, then there should be no problem taking a break of two months for urgent personal problems. If the break is unavoidable, then you must go ahead, but plan it carefully in consultation with your present company itself. Will they give you unpaid leave? Probably, you could also do some courses during this break on HR-related topics if you can fit in a block of two to three hours during this period.

Dear Nathrao,
Thank you for sharing your views. I also assume that I don't have to compromise on my salary while joining back after a break; I will get at least what I am currently earning.

Mr. Pankaj,
It is like this, when you finish your break and hopefully acquire additional qualifications/skills and job opportunities at that time. There can be no guarantee that you will get the same salary; you could even receive a better offer. It all depends on opportunities, how you present your CV, and how the interview plays out.
