Understanding Bonus Pay Eligibility for Probation Staff and Relevant Regulations - CiteHR

Dear all,

Please help me solve this question: Will Probation Staff receive their bonus or not? Mr. XYZ joined on 01.01.2007, so will he receive a 3-month bonus from January to March 2007? According to the law, what is the minimum number of days of duty required for him to be eligible for a bonus at Diwali time? Please suggest.

Regards.

No, on probation, the company is not liable to pay a bonus. However, according to the law, if an employee works for 30 days, they are eligible for a bonus. If the appointment letter states that you will be entitled to a bonus or LTA after confirmation, then the company may not pay.
