Hey everyone, my wife has recently received an offer at a government hospital on a contract basis in Chandigarh, which follows Punjab civil services laws.
Recently, with God's blessings, we welcomed a baby boy, and now my wife needs some time to take care of the baby. The job's start date is almost a month away, and we are contemplating whether to request an extension of the job offer or to apply for childcare leave after joining, which is approximately 3 months.
Despite my efforts to review various Punjab civil services laws, I have not been able to find clear information for contract employees. Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
