The increments are purely based on performance of a programmer or any employee in a Software Industry.
As far as percentages are concerned, we usually give an increment to fresher's in 6 months itself which will be 5 - 10 % increase on the basic (depending again on the performance). And experience employee's increment is done on yearly basis which again depends upon his performance and targets achieved as per company goals. (5 % - 25 % on basic).
