Is it possible one employee will have two PF account in one organisation. I just received an enquiry. The employee worked with company for 5 years and when pf claiming one came to know that there two accounts created for one person.
Would like to know why they done it like this ?

I think that question should be asked to the HR or Payroll team of the company.
What's the use of asking us ?
If you are asking for legal justification, there are none. It's probably carelessness as Kishore pointed out
Or may be the employee didn't tell that his old account is active

Should not kept two pf account in the same company, error is possible and such accounts come to be noticed other two companies(two different companies), it is lethargic way of functioning and no real system exist..

This is highly impossible to have two account numbers for one person iin the same organization. This is nothing but the inefficiency of HR dept or whoever deals with PF matters. This can be rectified by submitting Form 5 and one account number are to be cancelled and balance to be transferred to one account whichever is allotted earlier.
