Nisha ji !
I am unable to work out your ideas when you conceived knowledge and ideas as adversaries. In fact, knowledge is a step to cofidence. Here are the steps in thinking.
Step 1-Myth: You hear about the Puspak viman of Ravan, cloned sons of Dhritarastra and Sagar, embryo transplantation of Balaram from the uterus of Devaki to the uterus of Rohini etc. Having heard these ideas you just start pooling your other ideas and experiences and reorganise them. When you get a feasible idea, it becomes a knowledge.
Step 2-Knowledge: Knowledge is just an information about some thing. For example, you may know the rules of swimming or cricket but unless you swim or play cricket you can not get the wisdom.
Step 3-Wisdom: Wisdom is the knowledge applied. When you apply any knowledge, you get experience of results of your knowledge. This gives you confidece.
Step 4-confidence: Confidence is the inner feeling to assume responsiblity. You may have wisdom on the responsibility itself or on similar responsiblities. In either case you gain confidence.
So check up at what stage you are.

Dear Rajat,
Iam working as a HR Executive in an IT Industry for past 1 1/2 years but i have not been exposed to performance appraisal, evaluation and other HR Related activities in my previous organization. Now iam working for a OCMM level company and i got an opportunity to learn new things. Now i need more help to learn what is performance appraisal and based on what exactly this is calculated, etc., Like wise i want to learn more about competency mapping. May be these are too small things and may be silly also. But i want to be more strong in basics of HR Works so that i can work efficiently and confidently.
Hope you can help me in this regard.
