This discussion is on behalf of my friend. My friend got fired from his previous company, but until now, he hasn't shared with me the details of why he was let go. After that, he started searching for a job. He received an offer from Company A and worked there for one week. During this time, both my friend and I attended an interview at another company, Company B, where we became friends. He also received an offer from Company B and now wishes to join them. He has asked me to provide a reason for leaving Company A. I suggested that he inform HR that he is not comfortable with Company A and wishes to join Company B. However, I feel this approach may not be very professional. I am seeking advice from professionals on the best way for my friend to quit Company A. The reasons for quitting Company A are related to salary and the size of the organization.

I have a concern as well. I have also been selected by Company B, and they have sent me a conditional offer letter detailing the pay structure. However, my notice period at my current company is 45 days, which has put my application on hold. My friend, who is able to join immediately, received his offer letter promptly. I am worried that I may lose the opportunity. HR mentioned that they would inform me of the status within 3 days, which is making me anxious.

Firstly, I ask why your friend wants to leave Company A. If he changes companies every 3 days for the sake of salary, he will not be satisfied with any of them.

This is the time to stay and think, not to run and think. So, it's better to make yourself comfortable before joining any company, aiming to work for a minimum of 2 years. Changing jobs frequently will raise questions about your stability with future companies.

Now, coming to your point, since your friend is still in the probation period, there is no need to serve any notice period. Simply inform HR that you will not be continuing the job.

The delay in receiving the offer letter might be due to your notice period, or the company may require immediate joiners. The decision entirely depends on the management. Keep trying in other companies as well.

It is better to have a clear discussion with HR and talk about the exact status. You should also convey to them that you can reduce your notice period (if possible) if this is the reason behind your offer letter delay.
